This week has been utter chaos as all the other ones have. I am scratching my design because I do not like how it looks right now and I am going to start over again. I do not like how the legs look and cannot possibly attach them to anything. I have found the tutorial that I am going to use and I plan on starting tonight and that gives me four days to get it done since I will not be here over the weekend. I have finished my presentation so the only thing left is my cow. I am going to have it be a little smaller but it will not make much of a difference. I still have not figured out if I want to get little glass eyes or just use yarn. I think I will just use yarn since I am short on time but we will see. The cow will not look as good as I want but it will be complete. I hope that I can finish in time and that it looks decent. I have gotten the hang of all the needed skills now I just have to put it together. I have come to realize that there will be many small parts that have to be put together instead of one big product. I have also realized that I will have to sew some parts on there so pray for me. I hope to finish soon and will show you the final result.

For week eleven, so far I have finished one of my legs. The cow is going to be a lot smaller than desired but it is what it is. The legs are pretty thin but there was not much I can do about that. I have come to find crocheting very relaxing which is weird due to all the stress it has caused me. I am faster at doing rows and do not have to start over as much anymore. I feel more confident with shapes and switching colors. I plan to complete my cow by Monday of week twelve at the latest. The legs are fairly simple to do I just plan on crocheting a square piece at first and then connecting it together to form a cylinder. The body of the cow will be the hardest seeming as it is the largest as well as connecting everything because I have to sew it on there. I will finish my presentation next Friday and any other minor details before then. I fear that the cow will not be as pretty as I want but it is my work of twelve weeks and that is all that matters. I have enjoyed this product and have learned a lot about myself as well. I am a great procrastinator and love to make things harder for myself. I can work good under pressure and love to watch netflix while working. We will see what the finished products look like and pray that I get a good grade. I will keep you posted on any future accomplishments.
I have started crocheting my cow. I think it is going decent. So far I have made the four hooves and I plan to later use a single string of yarn to tie them to the legs. I plan on starting the first leg tomorrow. The magic ring did not do as well as I had hoped so I changed tactics and started just crocheting big knots as the hooves. They are black anyway so it will not matter. The head of the cow will be the hardest part because it has to be clean lines as well as have a mouth. I wanted to do little horns but I think I might just scratch that to be honest. I worry about adding in black spots to my cow since it will have to lay over the original layer of yarn. I look forward to the new challenge. I plan on finishing up my cow next weekend and then taking all of week twelve to fix up anything and to work on my presentation. I feel less stressed out and I am pretty sure I can make it in time as long as its a little smaller. I plan to do a little each day and see where it goes from there. I will be glad when it's done since it has caused me a lot of stress recently. The only concern I have is how it will look once it's finished. I will keep you posted on any future results or accomplishments.
For week nine I have finally gotten my materials. I got some white and black fluffy yarn at walmart with a bigger crochet needle. The yarn is thicker which will be necessary for the cow. The only downside is that I got the materials Sunday and could not start on my cow this week and will therefore have to start next week. I will have to crochet a whole cow in two weeks. I can't wait. I plan on crocheting every single night as well as crying. I have a break from volleyball these two weeks so I should be free every night which will help. I plan on getting all four hooves and muzzle done in two days and have all the rest for the body of the cow. The body will be the hardest part and I plan to start that, along with the head at a later time. I will start on Monday, the first day of week ten. If I work fast I should get everything done with some time to spare. I will also try to fit working on my presentation somewhere in that time frame. I plan to talk about the structure of my cow as well as what I have taken away from this project. I have learned many things during this project and my procrastination is a big one. I pray I will be able to finish on time and that I get a good grade on this project. I will keep you posted with any future results or accomplishments.
For week eight I have gotten my ducks in a row with planning. I will use black and white colored yarn for my cow and I plan to make it medium sized. I will do the arms and legs first then muzzle, hooves, and tail. I have a pattern that I plan to have help me along the way. I have practiced more on my magic ring but have still yet to get it under wraps. It's hard to get the loop through but I can manage. I am stressing so much because I have still not gotten the needed supplies but I plan on getting it very soon. I plan on making a schedule for myself for when I plan to work on my cow. I am going to have three days to learn some time management. Tuesdays and thursdays will probably be my best days since I have practice on all the other ones. I fear my cow will look a little wonky but hopefully it just gives it personality. I planned on crocheting multiple things but it seems that is not going to be the case. If I have any left over time I will think about it. To be honest I have thought about changing my project but it is too late to do so. I thought about baking or reading and I regret not picking something a little easier. I plan on getting my stuff together next week and pray that I can crochet faster than I think I can. I just need to work and I will be fine. I will get my materials next week and hopefully start then. I will keep you posted with any future results or accomplishments to come.
For week seven I have been anything but productive. I have not even touched a needle or yarn. I have been busy with a volleyball tournament in Utah. I have been planning out the materials I need and watching more youtube videos. I think I want to go with a thicker fluffy yarn instead of thin yarn mainly because it is bigger and can help me finish my project faster. In getting this yarn I will need a bigger crochet needle and will have to watch tutorials on the different stitches needed. I am having some trouble with my magic ring with the different hole the needle has to go through. I fear that I will not finish this project in time since I don't even have the materials yet. I also worry that I will not be able to do the magic ring since I have been having some trouble with it. I keep on forgetting which loop to pull the yarn through and it keeps turning out funky looking. I plan to keep practicing and hope to make some progress with it in the future. I hope next week I can get my needed materials and start on the hooves of my cow. I hope to finish my cow in good time and have a week to spare for my presentation and the last of my posts. I will keep you updated on any future results or accomplishments.
For week six I have learned how to do a magic ring. It is something that is crucial to know when crocheting the hooves of my cow as well as the legs and arms. Instead of making key chains and a bookmark, I have just been practicing the magic ring to get it right for my project. This next week I plan on getting a plan for my project and mapping out the essentials. I plan to do the smaller things first and then work up to the body and head. I also plan on getting some bigger yarn for my cow and I still have yet to decide on colors. I don't really know if I want to do the traditional white and black or if I want to go for a more colorful look. I plan to continue practicing simple patterns and have made little tentacles of crochet lines. I worry my procrastination will lead to an undesired grade. I'm scared that my cow will not look too good. I am having some minor issues when it comes to circles and looping the needle through the right loops. I will get focused and start doing more now that I have an idea for how it should look. I plan to finally get an exact design of the cow I want to make and how big it will be. I will soon get the needed materials and hopefully start before week 9 to give me time to make my final project. I look forward to the week to come and I plan to keep you posted on any future results or accomplishments.
Week five has been a long one. With getting little to no sleep due to homework assignments in my other classes, I have not really worked on crocheting much. I have watched videos on how to do a magic ring which will help me when making my cow. It looks easy enough but I am having a little trouble getting it started. I have also looked on Amazon and researched the best yarn to use when making bigger stuffed animals. Other than that I have not touched any yarn or needle this week. I fear that I will not be skilled enough to make the cow when it comes time to do so. Or that I will not know how too. To solve that problem I have decided that if the crocheted cow does not work I will make a whale. They are said to be easier for new learners. I plan to start making a keychain soon to get a feel for 3D shapes and how to make them come together. I thought about making a book mark but I'm not quite sure yet. I hope to start my cow in two weeks. I have searched for some yarn but have yet to find what I want. My goal for this upcoming week is to have two things crocheted to help make up for my loss of last week. Maybe a book mark and a small keychain. I plan to take pictures of them and post them if I get them done. I will keep you posted on any future results or accomplishments.
I definitely underestimated how hard this would be. It is so hard to switch rows and remember which loop to go through. I am also struggling with making my rows look neat and even. Its hard to keep it going straight. I can't even imagine doing 3d shapes right now. I want to cry. I am still confident I will make a cow but anything other than that might be a little hard. I think I should be able to make some bigger single stitch squares if nothing else. This week I have focused on more of just practicing rather than making anything. I have tried practicing switching off between rows. I have watched tutorials of making cows just to see what it consists of. I did this because I want the things I make to look good with few errors. I have also looked into magic rings which will be necessary for making the body for my cow. Next week I plan on trying different shapes such a circles and diamonds. A few concerns of mine are if I will have enough time to make the cow. Crocheting simple things take a while and I'm sure a whole cow will take forever. I also am scared that I wont be able to make 3d shapes like the legs, head, and body. Other than that I look forward to continuing working and learning new designs. I hope to learn how to do different shapes such as circles and triangles soon. Below is one of the things I made this week that I am still working on. I will keep you updated on any future events or accomplishments to come.
For this week I have finished up my planning and have finally begun to start my project. It has been a hassle to say the least. With volleyball and school I have had little time to do much of anything. Crocheting is very difficult but hopefully, with some time I can come to get better at it. The most difficult thing is starting new rows and remembering where ,to pull the needle through. Another thing is timing. I need a thicker and fluffier type yarn to make my cow. I need to plan when to have my yarn by and when to start learning how to do my cow. I have gotten the sIip knot down and am working on some other knots to try and be more efficient. I hope to make more in the future and as you know I have been successful in making a twig looking shape. Hopefully, I can improve a lot in my allotted time period. I hope to start my cow in a couple of weeks if I'm lucky. I don't want to fall behind in making it and end up having to do it all last minute. I can't wait to start on something other than squares. I will keep you updated on any progress made. Below are a few images of my first creations. I have not stopped laughing yet. I will keep you posted on any future accomplishments and creations made. Pray that I get a cow that looks somewhat decent and not like a twig.
